About

My business partner, Lizzie Stuhlreyer, and I opened a gift store and gallery in the Gulch in the fall of 2021. We decided to create a store where everything under its roof was made in Nashville, making it easier for people to support local art. We wanted an art space that was approachable and had something for everyone. In a short amount of time, Lizzie and I single-handedly built a community of artists and art lovers.

Without a physical space at the moment, I literally have to think outside the box and beyond the walls of retail. I say "I" now because, after moving out of the Gulch location, Lizzie decided to pursue her own art full-time. However, with her continued support, along with that of many others, this effort still feels like a "we"—and I am grateful for that.
I have dreamed of creating an online Artist Marketplace in addition to a gallery, and now seems like the perfect time to do it. The best way to describe the concept is similar to Etsy, but specifically for Nashville artists, with the opportunity to see original artwork in person before purchasing. Artists and artwork will be added over the coming weeks, and it will launch on Nov. 14th.

Art Beat is energized by my love for my lifelong home of Nashville, my admiration and respect for the many local artists I know, and the countless more I have yet to meet. I am honored to be part of Nashville's well-established art community!
