Inner Sisters is the creation of former Art Beat co-owner, Lizzie Stuhlreyer. She brings her life stories and artwork together in a way that feels honest and relatable. The combination opens a window into the inner worlds we all carry, reminiscent of the emotional “parts” that Dr. Richard Schwartz describes in his Internal Family Systems model.

In a recent blog, she explains it beautifully:

Loneliness is rarely about being physically alone. It’s about carrying pieces of yourself you don’t know how to say out loud. The thoughts you swallow. The emotions you manage privately. The parts of yourself you’ve been taught to hide, minimize, or “get over."
